Considering its administrative importance - this is where the major Pajara - Fuerteventuratourist centres on Jandía are administered - Pájara has a surprisingly rural and tranquil air. At the edge of town there are picturesque, clay-coloured farmhouses long exposed to the ravages of time, and in the centre, myriads of birds twitter in the tall, shady trees and bushes. There are lawns, and even a freshwater swimming-pool with eight 25 m lanes.
